Rihanna kicks off the new year with yet another collaboration with MAC Cosmetics for their upcoming Viva Glam campaign. The campaign has been wildly successful in raising funds for men, children and women that are affected by HIV and Aids. For 18 years this campaign has had a ton of celebrity support for their campaigns including Rupaul, Lady Gaga, Lil Kim, Elton John. Nicki Minaj and Cyndi Lauper to name a few. In November we first got word that Rihanna was named to be an official spokeswoman for MAC’s Aids and HIV campaigns. The campaign was shot by the unstoppable photography duo Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, who also shot Rihanna’s recent Balmain SS14 Campaign. The blonde bob looks stunning on a nearly nude Rihanna, and I love how the campaign has a very vulnerable quality to it.
“The M·A·C AIDS Fund, the heart and soul of M·A·C Cosmetics, was established in 1994 to support men, women and children affected by HIV/AIDS globally. MAF is a pioneer in HIV/AIDS funding, providing financial support to organizations working with underserved regions and populations. As the largest corporate non-pharmaceutical giver in the arena, MAF is committed to addressing the link between poverty and HIV/AIDS by supporting diverse organizations around the world that provide a wide range of services to people living with HIV/AIDS. To date, MAF has raised $270 million (US) exclusively through the sale of M·A·C’s Viva Glam Lipstick and Lipglass donating 100 percent of the sale price to fight HIV/AIDS.” – http://www.macaidsfund.org/
This is not the first time Rihanna has teamed up with MAC Cosmetics. She has launched successful summer, holiday and fall colour collections with MAC in the past.
Rihanna’s MAC Viva Glam lipstick and lipgloss will be available online in North American on Jan. 21 at maccosmetics.com and in stores Jan. 23.
