PRMITV WORLD S/S16 collection stood out on the stage at this season’s New York Fashion Week, with fun, funky, bold and wearable pieces, which were a great interlude from a lot of the more serious runway shows.
Founder Jacqueline Levine brings to the collection her passion of street art. An acclaimed artist, she has traveled the country, transforming abandoned buildings with provocative and colourful, character-driven artwork. During her travels, she developed a desire to reach people through a more accessible medium in the form of an apparel collection.
The pieces themselves were simple and clean in form. It is the great use of texture and strong pops of colour in the form of graphic characters echoing those in Levine’s street art that really made thesepieces stand out. The collection consists of everything from jumpsuits to dresses and jogging pants and will have instant appeal to a diverse audience. Both practical and fun, I can see great things for the PRMITV WORLD label.
My personal favourite from the collection was the mesh long-sleeved top with monster graphics. I love the clean, textural look of the piece with the pop of fun and colour.
