Target wins first place for the power of persuasion: here’s why
Tar-jay (aka Target: because let’s face it, they’re fancy for the prices we pay for their stuff) has seen collaborations with high-end designers from Jason Wu whose collection sold out online within the day to Peter Pilotto, Carolina Herrera, Phillip Lim, Derek Lam, Diane Von Furstenberg and Missoni. This time around, they’ve decided to stun us with their power of persuasion when it comes to designers by signing on Joseph Altuzarra for a ready to wear women’s collection. Altuzarra has come such a long way since he was chosen as contestant for the Vogue Fashion Fund. Just like most contestant, he’s been sworn into the tight knit group of “Vogue approved” designers. Altuzarra has been successful for several reasons. First, Altuzarra has always been selective in the projects he chooses. Second, he is the master of execution when it comes to fashion. Finally, his style is modern and approachable. It also doesn’t hurt that he has an amazing cute dog name Bean. My favorite season will forever be the spring 2013 collection where we saw sprinkles of gold in the collection and knee high gladiators. It looks like this collaboration with Target will bring us some great movement in his pieces and a very romantic feel.

For those who prefer to shop online, Target has got you covered. You can shop some of the collection on Net-a-porter. The collection will total to 50 pieces and range in prices from $17.99-$89.99 for apparel and lingerie and $29.99-$79.99 for shoes. Expect French sophistication from the collection that is both practical and feminine.
The big question when it comes to this collection isn’t what to buy but whether we’ll get to it in time before it sells out. This is our first world problem of the day.
