Today MTV announced on Facebook that Jeremy Scott had redesigned the iconic Moonman Statue, that would be given out at this years MTV Video Music Awards. The awards will be hosted by Miley Cyrus, who is not only a loyal devotee and fan of Jeremy Scott [The two collaborated during his Jeremy Scott SS15 show a Milk Studios] but also one of his close friends.
The fact he was chosen to do the revamp is not all too surprising, considering what he has accomplished with Moschino. The statue features a multicoloured psychedelic wash over the surface of the statue, and accessorized with a oversized silver peace sign chain. Another one of the big changes is the use of The Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers’ TV “test pattern” bars along the TV screen, which only the true 70’s/80’s/90’s kids will remember [Or if you saw the Jeremy Scott SS14 collection you will recall he used it as a pattern throughout). Lastly, the addition of Jeremy Scott’s iconic “JS Wings” sneakers, from his long standing collaboration with adidas are worn on the Moonman’s feet.

How Jeremy Scott finds the time to design for his own eponymous label, Moschino, his line with Adidas and film a documentary (which will come out very soon and we are waiting with baited breath to see) is baffling. He is one of the hardest working men in fashion and it’s fantastic to see him flourishing so well, and taking over the universe, literally.
