Jeremy Scott has been busy with his new position as Creative Director at Moschino, and the launching of his Moschino Pre-Fall14 collection recently. The lookbook for his latest collection of Jeremy Scott for Adidas has just launched online.
As an avid collector of Jeremy Scott for Adidas, the day his new lookbook drops feels like Christmas morning. I have about 15 pairs of sneakers spanning over his tenure with Adidas. From wings in several colour combinations, to blue suede hightops with tassels all over them, to several versions of his teddy bear shoes (Gorilla’s, Panda’s and Camo bears). Over the holidays he did the bear shoes in gold tinsel (featured in our gift guide), which are absolutely incredible. The latest collection marks a huge milestone in Jeremy Scotts collaborations with adidas, their ten year anniversary of working together.
There is a strong influence from the UK in this collection starting with the use of pearl buttons used all over a black tracksuit, paying homage to “pearlies” who are “east end street traders wearing suits decorated with pearl buttons”. The tracksuit has bondage strap detailing on the pants which has become a signature for Jeremy Scott. A T-shirt with a portrait of Jeremy Scott with the union jack painted across his face gives us a total David Bowie moment. There is quite a lot of classic Jeremy Scott prints in this collection, from florals, to leopard and of coarse the winged dollar sign.
For the shoes this season we see some of our old favourites like the classic Rod Laver style done in gold with gold winged dollar sign lace jewellery. New takes on the iconic bones trainer, as well as the JS Instinct in multiple colours will also be available, in florals and grafitti prints. The new kid on the block will be the new TALL BOY shoe, which as the name suggests has a very tall rise to it, surpassing the ankle by quite a bit.
Normally for your ten year anniversary you give diamonds, but with this collection we got so much more.
