For his FW15 collection Jay Godfrey found a way to merge his red carpet glamour with Savile Row tailoring. It was a pretty incredible undertaking and resulted in his most personal collection to date as he told us backstage. There was a lot of range in the collection from his signature red carpet looks, to separates and some incredible suiting.

A one shouldered muted grey with shocking pink gown was a prime example of this. From the asymmetry in the colour blocking, to the shocking pink piping that brought it all together.

The sleeve was finished with a cuff giving a slight bishop feel to the shape. A bow in a metallic dusty rose gold finished the look elegantly.

There was plays with sheerness in unexpected ways like on a long black sequin gown that had a sheer polo neck.

One of the boldest statements he made this season was not one of his red carpet gowns, but a suit. This wasn’t you ordinary “Le Smoking” inspired suit. It had an all over abstract floral print that looked like it had been hand painted. The pants had a slight flare to them, giving a nod to the bohemian and 70’s influences we saw dominate the catwalk this season.

In the end it was two young ladies that really stole the show.
