For his first showing at NYFW Jack Spade presented a collection that had a fantastic depth and breath. The presentation was held at the New York Public Library on 5th ave.  The suiting is a newer endeavour for Jack Spade and it was impeccably tailored in navy, pin stripes, checked and ash grey. The suede drawstring pants (one of my favourite pieces) were paired with a chambray button down and blazer proved that you can dress comfortably this fall and still look dapper. The outerwear in the collection was quite diverse, from the long camel coat the military style parka in their waxwear fabric.

The accessories are definitely the bread and butter behind Jack Spade, so naturally there were plenty of their signature waxwear fabric bags. This season they brought a few newer shapes like duffles, backpacks and briefcases in buttery soft black leather. The flower lapel accessories added a great pop to the jackets and blazers, as did the knitted beanies (or toques as we call them in Canada) in red, navy and ash grey. The knitted ties in solid colours and thick horizontal stripes added another layer of texture to the looks.

Each look of the collection was strong on it’s own, but what I loved best is that you could very easily mix and match all the pieces. It has been a pleasure to watch the evolution of Jack Spade and I can’t wait to see the next phase of it.
