Today WWD reported that Givenchy is about to embark on a huge retail expansion. In 2014 Givenchy will be opening a forecasted 26 more retail botuiques, in Europe, Asia and The United States. This expansion is huge news for the luxury label, with stand alone Givenchy boutiques set to open in NY, Miami and Las Vegas. The european side of the expansion will also bring the first stand alone Givenchy boutiques outside of Paris, with the first locations set for London, Rome and Milan. If you are wondering how they are able to expand this much in such a short period of time, the proof is in the numbers. While there has not been a official release of their 2013 earnings thus far, sources say they are on track for upwards of 270 MILLION dollars in revenue. Givenchy has also been carving a huge corner of the streetwear market recently, which I’m sure partially attributes for the raising popularity. It also doesn’t hurt that they have aligned themselves with the right celebrities that can rock the edgy aesthetic that Tisci has brought to the house.
