In lieu of a formal presentation this season at NYFW, Frank & Oak took it digital. The presentation shows their latest collection SS15, which may be confusing to some as we just saw the FW15 collections. Frank and Oak doesn’t believe in showing collections 6 months or a year in advance, and frankly they don’t need to with their direct-to-consumer platform. Furthermore, the collection will be available this month through their website and brick and mortar locations.
The collection entitled “Eastern Transit” illustrates the “journey of a young man traveling from Los Angeles to Tangier, and the cast of characters he meets along the way”. While the journey he takes goes from east to west, it’s more about the transition VS being one or the other. You see a transition from the noticeably more athletic styles like the varsity bomber jacket in navy with cognac sleeves and waist [One of my favourite pieces], to the Japanese pin-dot shirt and matching shorts. You see more of the Tangiers inspiration in the colour palette with shades of blue that reflect on the water of the Mediterranean sea, as well as the hints of yellow, peach and the light-weight striped button down shirts.
You will be able to shop the collection this month at Frank&Oak.
