Thank goodness one of Pusse Couture’s favorite things is meeting her fans, because The Social Life are HUGE fans of this fabulous feminine beauty. We first discovered Pusse (aka Peter Bonavita) through our feature ‘Half-Drag’, a project showcasing drag queens from across the country created by photographer Leland Bobbe.
Originally from West Springfield, Massachusetts, Pusse (aka Peter) has resided in New York City for the last two years. She’s only two hours away from home, but she can’t help being homesick. No one at home thought she would ever move, but when she did, it happened in an instant (and now she’s taking over the Big Apple!). Even still, Pusse tries to go home for a weekend every couple of months to stay grounded.
She is a makeup artist by trade. Completely self-taught, Pusse couldn’t see herself doing anything else as a serious career. “My favorite part about doing someone’s make up is the end reveal. The clients excited expression is the best!”
Pusse Couture does her own hair and make up, always has and always will. “I don’t trust anyone with doing my makeup, especially drag. I know my face more than anyone else, and I know how I like it to look.” TRUST!
Besides her massively teased hair, Pusse wouldn’t say she has a signature style. For her looks she pulls inspiration from the bag lady on the street to Ke$ha to the fashion from the 30s, 60s and 80s. “I’m like a melting pot of sex appeal and alcohol abuse, and I’m living for high-wasted pencil skirts right now. So cute!” Pusse, we live and die for YOU!
