Before watching the Tommy Hilfiger FW15 show, Christopher and I headed backstage to check out all the final preparations. Models were getting the finishing touches done on their hair and makeup, and getting ready for the walk through before the venue opened. Pat McGrath was backstage directing the makeup look, still to this day every time I see her backstage at a show, I feel like I just saw a unicorn.

“This season is all about understated, all-American beauty. The look is simple, sporty and effortlessly elegant with matte skin, full brows, nude lips and lightly sun-kissed cheeks. It’s a celebration of classic barefaced beauty with a natural, healthy glow.”- Pat McGrath

“Our inspiration for hair comes from pure American style: it’s natural and undone, but at the same time still very chic and classic. The hair is blow-dried at the ends and parted
the center, then tucked behind the ears; it’s clean, subtle and all about the detail.” – Eugene Souleiman

Backstage there was the “Twitter Mirror”, one of the digital activations we mentioned in the days leading up to the show. They had Tommy Hilfiger Football helmets and flags that you could put on for your backstage photo op. You literally stand infront of it like a mirror, snap a photo and then you can draw on the photo before posting it to Tommy Hilfiger’s Twitter page.

The music tracks for the show:
Destiny’s Child – Bootylicious
Missy Elliott – Work It Notorious B.I.G – Mo Money Mo Problems
Naughty by Nature – O.P.P.
Jackson 5 – I Want You Back
Amerie – 1 Thing
Aaliyah – Try Again
Finale: Beyoncé feat. Jay Z – Crazy in Love

Trying to keep it professional backstage while some of my favourite tracks were playing was borderline impossible. But I wasn’t the only one feeling that struggle, from models, to the beauty artists, bloggers and photographers, everyone was getting into the groove backstage.
